Academic Talent
What is Academic Talent? • The academic talent competition is above average in one or more areas of human skills, which occurs naturally, but requires a suitable learning environment to grow and manifest.
• There are people with potential talent in the entire population, but the risk of losing what is most worrying among the most disadvantaged students.
• The academically talented students have a high learning potential and motivation to learn, but can not find in regular education opportunities they need for their development; face classroom situations that they find easy and routine, not recognizing their capabilities and must be at the same pace of the group, not the challenges and therefore lose the motivation to learn.
Who has the academic talent?
Academically talented students:
• a potential or show exceptional ability in relation to their peers in one or more areas of knowledge.
• They learn quickly, are motivated, process the material in greater depth and show more energy, imagination, intellectual acuity and sensitivity, even at very early ages.
• With great emotional intensity and high social sensitivity, tend to prefer the company of adults and often are not friends with chronological peers, given differing abilities and interests.
• They are in the top 10% of their age group and within this percentage, there are degrees of talent. Consequently, 10% of the students are talented, 51% are dependent on local establishments, where urgent development opportunities.

¿Qué es Talento Académico?
- El talento académico es una competencia superior al promedio en una o más áreas de las aptitudes humanas, que se da en forma natural, pero necesita de un contexto de aprendizaje adecuado para crecer y manifestarse.
- Existen personas con potencial de talento en toda la población, pero el riesgo de que lo pierdan es más preocupante entre estudiantes de sectores más desfavorecidos.
- Los estudiantes con talentos académicos tienen un altísimo potencial de aprendizaje y motivación por aprender, pero no encuentran en la educación regular las oportunidades que requieren para su desarrollo; enfrentan situaciones escolares que les resultan fáciles y rutinarias; no se reconocen sus capacidades y deben ir al mismo ritmo del grupo, lo que no los desafía y, por tanto, pierden la motivación por aprender.
¿Quiénes tienen talentos académicos?
Los alumnos con talentos académicos:- Muestran un potencial o habilidades excepcionales en relación a sus pares, en una o más áreas del conocimiento.
- Aprenden rápidamente, están motivados, procesan el material con mayor profundidad y muestran más energía, imaginación, agudeza intelectual y sensibilidad, incluso desde edades muy precoces.
- Con gran intensidad emocional y alta sensibilidad social, suelen preferir la compañía de adultos y muchas veces no encuentran amigos entre sus pares cronológicos, dada la diferencia de capacidades e intereses.
- Se sitúan en el 10% superior de su grupo de edad y, dentro de ese porcentaje, existen grados de talento. En consecuencia, el 10% de los estudiantes es talentoso; el 51% está en establecimientos con dependencia municipal, donde urgen las oportunidades de desarrollo.
